Why Don’t Manufacturers Do It?
Of course technology is not the issue, they chose to restrict the true performance because they have to make allowances for a wide variety of circumstances.

Increased Power = Fuel Savings
Despite what normal logic would suggest, remapping actually improves fuel economy.
With more power available the engine doesn’t have to work as hard, increasing the power to weight ratio reduces the effort the engine has to make to pull the weight of the vehicle.
What Increase In MPG Will I See
Every Vehicle and driver style is different, however for normally aspirated petrol and diesel engines we expect to gain 4% -
ECO Tune
With tuning specifically designed for diesel turbo vehicles, we expect to achieve between 10-20% improvement in MPG.
Normally aspirated approx 10% - Turbo Petrol approx 25-30% - Turbo Diesel approx 30-35% although for motorsport applications anything upto 45% is available
Will It Affect My Insurance
It depends on your insurance company. Some insurance companies know what remapping is and will take a sensible approach.
